„This song speaks about the tension that exists between different facets of one’s life. I wanted to make a music video to add a visual dimension, but I wanted the video to be the vision of someone else so they could add their own perspective. I asked Lauren Finerman to create a story based on what spoke to her in the song. We centered the video around dance because ten-sion is so visible within dance, and because dance is an ongoing passion for Lauren and a language she was familiar with. Everyone that worked on this video really added something unique, and it was a great experience to hear what this song had meant to each person. The video was shot in Oakland during one very, very long day and it was really inspiring to see people follow their own artistic visions based on a song I had written.” – Jeni Magana
