Seit 2019 macht der Amsterdamer Musiker Thijs Havens als Esplanade eigene Songs und feierte damals sein Debütalbum. Nun ist der Künstler und Produzent mit neuem Material zurück. „Hit Me Up“ is about the need for ecstasy in grim times. Not necessarily meaning intoxication, this can be anything that distracts you or moves you and helps to forget problems or the state of the world for a while. It was the first song I wrote in a while, but when I finished the demo I knew I had a blueprint for the sound of a whole new (upcoming) album.“
